Counsellor and Psychotherapist in Lancaster

Working with me:

It's not all  'talking about the past'

Safe, Supportive and Non-Judgemental

I offer a safe, supportive and confidential space to talk about what might be difficult- what happened to you - and the places where you feel stuck. As we talk I will invite you to be curious with me about your life. I will support you as you make contact with forgotten and disowned  memories, the things you don't like very much about yourself, and the things you would like to do differently.

A Different Kind of Relationship

I encourage clients to look for clues about the source of their distress in their relationship with me and in the unconscious processes which can be rumbling away underneath, making us think and behave in ways that we find hard to understand. I aim to offer gentle challenge and warm support  as we look together at what's happening in your life. I will draw your attention back to your thoughts and feelings and what you notice is happening in your body as we talk.

What you 'really really' want!

As an Anglican Priest I have spent a lot of time thinking about what happens to us in different phases of life and what it means to be human. I will actively encourage you to explore and embrace the things which make you unique, which might be your gender, sexuality, culture or ethnicity or simply the things you love and want to do more.

The big issues of redemption, despair, healing, grief and growth have been my daily life for as long as I can remember and are something I offer as a rich resource to my clients.

That which we do not bring to consciousness appears in our life as fate.

Carl Jung

Whoever you are, no matter how lonely,

the world offers itself to your imagination, calls to you like the wild geese, harsh and exciting -

over and over announcing your place

in the family of things.
